HIGHER EDUCATION IN PUNJAB
The state of Punjab is an emerging hub of education in India accounting for a total of 9.2 Lac students pursuing higher education studies. At present, Punjab hosts 16 Public and 16 Private Universities, 199 Public and 809 Private colleges spread across its 22 districts. The state has also attracted around 4500 international students who have currently enrolled in institutions across Punjab. The Government of Punjab aims at creating an education and training environment that equips young learners with desired values, attitudes, knowledge, skills, and competencies, particularly in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and make informed personal, social, and political decisions as citizens of Punjab. They plan on training all institutions in adopting technology-mediated pedagogy in classrooms, the robust online linkage between all universities and their affiliated colleges. The institutions of Punjab are also coming forward to actively undertake overall quality assurance and assessment of their education delivery and practices to improve their national and global presence.
REDEFINING INSTITUTIONAL STRATEGY FOR EXCELLENCE (R.I.S.E.), is a first of its kind initiative by QS IGAUGE. R.I.S.E. provides a platform for the leaders in higher education to connect with their peer groups and discuss the current situation of education in their state.
We have witnessed an exhausting marathon of webinars, conferences, and other sessions in the last year on the pandemic, its challenges, and learnings for institutions and their leaders. It is now time to get together on a platform that goes beyond the daunting scenario we are in, to deliberate upon the possible solutions, way forward, and action plans towards achieving institutional excellence amid and despite the innumerable challenges forced upon us by this global crisis.
